Why we care
Doing good matters to the 427 team on a deeper level than just our services; it’s important to us that we do help out socially and environmentally where we can as a business. We’re a likeminded bunch, so the causes close to our hearts are supported by us all. Whether it’s stepping up in someone’s hour of need, or helping to protect the natural world that we all love being out in, we take pride in contributing in ways that reflect who we are, both as individuals, and as a team.

Supporting Community First Responders
The work we do for our clients is important, but we’re hardly saving lives; except one of us actually is. Our Technical SEO Director Jack is also a Seahaven Community First Responder, which means that he is part of a small but dedicated group of trained individuals who respond to local 999 calls to South East Coast Ambulance Service (SECAmb). When he gets an alert, he hops in the car, and makes his way to the emergency like a real life hero.
SECAmb’s community first responders attend roughly 20,000 emergency calls per year. Of these, more than 10,000 are categorised as life-threatening; more than 1,000 of these are cardiac or respiratory arrest calls.
We’re so proud of what Jack does within our community, and we’re pleased that 427 is able to facilitate it. Our working arrangements not only allow Jack to work at or close to home so he can be available locally, but also so that he has the flexibility to attend these calls at a moment’s notice, remain up to date with his training, and continue to do this super rewarding role.

Backing Surfers Against Sewage
With some of the team located along the south east coast of England, it figures that some of those 427 faces are fans of watersports too. Swimming and paddleboarding are up there, but it’s surfing that wins out for us, which is what makes Surfers Against Sewage (SAS) a cause close to our hearts.
Surfers Against Sewage is a UK marine-based conservation charity that works to protect oceans, beaches, and their associated wildlife. This nationwide movement, which started as a campaign against water pollution, now empowers businesses and individuals to stand up for the environment through community-led beach cleans, education, lobbying for stronger environmental protections, and ‘Paddle Out Protests’.
As part of The Ocean Network, run by SAS, 427 is proud to support the protection of the beaches we love, and the ocean we’d be lost without; surfing brings us great joy, and we feel it’s our duty to give back through Surfers Against Sewage. We can be spotted at Paddle Out Protests just down the road from us in Brighton as and when they are held.
Small business, real impact
427 is still a relatively small team, but we don’t believe that it stops us from showing up. We believe in leading by example and encouraging others to do the same, and are always looking for ways in which we can give back. From one-off projects such as our involvement with Newick Skate Park, to ongoing environmental considerations in our operating practices, we do what we can with what we’ve got.
Think we could help support a cause that matters to you? Drop us a message; we’re always open to getting involved where it matters.
